Do you want to lose weight? Get in shape? Be healthy? Make new friends?
The "Couch to 5k" system is a training program designed to get people who are currently inactive to be able to run a 5k race (3.1 miles) in just nine weeks. Being part of a training group provides support and added motivation to complete the program. All shapes/sizes/skill levels are welcome, particularly beginners and those who have never considered themselves to be a "runner".
Membership in the group is FREE.
The plan is for the group to begin training on January 2, 2016, with a goal of participating in the Anthem 5k Fitness Classic on February 27, 2016. (There is a fee associated with the Anthem 5k, although you are not required to run in the race to participate in the training group.)
